Shashi Kapoor In Jab Jab Phool Khile (1965)

Shashi had a rather interesting even if limited wardrobe in this cute 1960's rom com. His role in this film can be described as the country bumpkin reluctantly turned City slicker

He starts off the film in quite a typical Kashmiri local boy look as "Raja" in a woven cap, Kurta (a kaftan style shirt), waistcoat with embroidery, slightly baggy Shalwar trousers and a choker style necklace with a pendant that's shaped like the tooth of a sabre tiger (or could it be a Moustache)

Next up were various similar outfits in various colour combinations
Loving the colours of the thread on that waistcoat

The rest of his traditional outfits were full length pics of the Kurta, waiscoast, hat and Shalwar pants

Halfway through the film Raja meets Slick urban babe Rita (Nanda, more on her later). The two fall in love while she's on holiday in Kashmir, he later joins her in the city. Now that he's in the city, she gives him a makeover.  Before he transforms into a slick urbanite he tries to Impress Rita whom he has a crush on with his interpretation of what a city slicker might look like

His look following the makeover were mostly smart shirts and knits combined with smart trousers

My favourite look of his in this film apart form his traditional Kashmiri boy outfits is this silk aubergine (or is that dark purple) Tuxedo he is wearing below with a white shirt, bow tie and pocket square (Very dapper indeed)
See more of him in the tuxedo look in the clip below

Overall, a quite appropriate look for his character in this very enjoyable film (see reviews here, here and here). I really loved his traditional Kashmiri outfits, his makeover looks could have been better but they felt just right for a country boy who was just starting to experiment with clothes which differed from his.

Vishal Anand in Chalte Chalte (1976)

Marking his territory in bollywood movie fashion hall of fame is Vishal Anand in his only movie role to date, while his acting skills might be frowned upon, his style especially his rather jazzy shirts brought a smile upon my face and made me cherish him forever

Just like Nazneen (whose outfits we discussed previously) Vishal's opening scene was of him running along the beach in a pair of red swimming trunks, which he pulled off just right and way before Baywatch too if I might add

Way too much going on with that scarf against that shirt, wish he had tossed off that scarf and worn the shirt on its own
I love that check patterned safari style suit and Jacket set he's wearing paired with a bright orange shirt
He seemed to a have a penchant for doggy ear style shirt collars, this grey shirt was my least favourite of all his funky shirts, not because of the collar but because of the rather dull collar and bad fit
Now if only i could get my hands on that silk dressing gown, I love the red paisley design running all over it
Is That a shirt or Blouse, I really don't care because I LOVE it, and I'd love to have it in my wardrobe, dog eared collar and all
Look how that shirt is making him a woman magnet, no surprises at all. See more of this  hip shirt in the video below

Loved this canary yellow military style shirt
In yet another Jazzy shirt, couldn't work out the print on this one, looks like horses or reindeers

Fab Shirt, i love that print and the way he's knotted it, seriously I want that shirt like NOW

I WANT THIS ONE TOO, WHY CAN'T MEN'S STORES CARRY MORE SHIRTS LIKE THIS

Not entirely crazy about this one but its still a rather jazzy (or should I say)kitsch shirt none the less
In double denim with a velvet baker boy style hat and bug eye shades, I think he's working it though
In a rather demure shirt in comparison to all the others seen here
While his acting left a lot to be desired, Vishal undoubtedly left a huge impression on me as I was crazy about his jazzy shirt collection, I wish he had done more films where he'd have displayed more of his stylish shirts but perhaps that would have been too much for me to bear, but alas I'll forever remember him for his shirts more so than his acting, not a bad thing I think.

Rajendra Kumar in Arzoo (1965)

I have always had a soft spot for Rajendra Kumar and of late I've realised when it comes to style, he was definitely one of Hindi movies most stylish heroes. Here in Arzoo, his style varies from lovely knitted Jumpers to well tailored suits and coats and statement sunglasses, from now on I have to pay more attention to his style particularly his style in the 60's.

A huge part of the movie is set in Kashmir which has a much cooler climate than other parts of India this allowed for plenty of layering, which explains the amount of Jackets and knitwear
Loved his total look here from the smart bomber jacket to the red polo top and those wayfarers, fab! Rajendra, fab!
Next up was this lovely Alpine/Fairisle style knit teamed with a snazzy pair of wayfarers
I love this close up shot of him, he looks great and I really really really want those sunglasses
Loved his 60's style suit with skinny lapels which i prefer over the wide style style of the 70's
Loved that overcoat on him, in fact the general style of layering in this movie was fantastic
In yet another overcoat, love the stripy tie and the way its been knotted half Windsor style
